How I Lost 105 Pounds In 18 Months With Theraputic Ketones

Hi! Tell us about yourself…why did you decide to start losing weight?

My name is Karen (Keto Karen) and I am 48 years old. 3.5 years ago I was planning my wedding and suddenly realized I was fat. Ha! My motivation was purely vanity – I wanted our wedding photos to look as good as possible! I only had 4 months to make something happen. I had tried pretty much every weight loss program and fad diet in the past, with no success. Thankfully my friend showed me a video about pure therapeutic ketones. I knew being in ketosis was a great way to lose weight, but I failed every time I tried to diet. I decided to give pure therapeutic ketones a try, mostly because they said they would work even if I didn’t change my eating habits. I was not going to give up beer and pizza!  Haha!

After about 4 days of taking the drinks, I wasn’t craving carbs and sugar. And let me tell you, I was a carboholic! It was so weird! I wasn’t as hungry either. So I listened to my body and gradually lowered my carbs and sugar and only ate when I was hungry.

I had to have my wedding dress taken in twice before our wedding. I had lost 30 lbs!

What did you do for exercise when you started? Did you change it up throughout your weight loss journey?

Well here’s the thing. I didn’t do ANY exercise. I was leading an extremely sedentary lifestyle and still had no problem losing the weight. Once I lost 100 lbs I didn’t really have an excuse anymore, so I have recently started incorporating brisk walks and body weight exercises to help make some more changes to my body composition.

What did you do for nutrition when you started? Did you change it up throughout your weight loss journey?

I consider my diet to be moderately low carb. I practice intermittent fasting (16:8) most days and I do a 60-hour extended fast every month. I still eat real pizza once a week and drink low carb beer like a champ! I almost feel guilty for how easy this has been. I haven’t tracked a macro or counted a calorie in almost 4 years – it’s so freeing!!  I look at labels and try to keep the total carbs per serving under 10 net grams of carbs if possible. I stick with low carb veggies and fruits, and enjoy baking alternatives to breads, crackers and sweet treats.

How did you stay mentally strong when it was tough losing weight? Did you ever give up? How did you recover?

I haven’t found this new way of life to be tough because the ketones keep me on track. They make me sleep like a rock and give me fantastic energy throughout the day so I no longer need my daily naps. I also have an amazing community of other people who drink ketones. We all have varying nutrition and exercise plans, but we all agree on pure therapeutic ketones being our body’s preferred fuel source!

Did you use any sort of trackers/apps/scales to track your weight loss progress?

I step on my bathroom scale once a month. That’s it.

When did you start to notice progress in your weight loss journey?

Though my scale hadn’t moved, I lost 2 pant sizes in my first 20 days of drinking ketones and gradually reducing my carb and sugar intake. Thank goodness I took pictures on day 1 to compare!

Do you have any “hacks” or “secrets” that helped you lose weight?

To anyone who is struggling with their weight, energy, sleep, mood, mental clarity or body composition I would strongly encourage them to give pure therapeutic ketones a try. I have clients who are Moms, Dads, students, body builders, nurses, doctors, chiropractors, welders, heavy equipment operators, etc. There’s no reason to struggle when you’ve got the right tool in your tool belt!  The 10-day Drink Ketones Challenge is a fantastic way to give it a try and see and feel the difference ketones can make. Or you can join me on my next 8-week challenge if you’re feeling ready for a change!

What advice would you give beginners who are looking to lose weight?

First, find something that you enjoy and can stick to without it feeling like torture.

Second, don’t try so hard. Be patient and consistent!

Lastly, drink lots of water and use electrolytes!
