How I Lost 35 Pounds In 4 Months With Keto
Hi! Tell us about yourself…why did you decide to start losing weight?
I’m Courtney! I’m 32 years old and I have an 8yr old daughter who is the definition of why I need extra energy each day! I’m a full-time dental assistant and I LOVE what I do. I started eating low carb about three years ago when my little sister got married. We went dress shopping and I was a size 20 when they measured me I couldn’t believe it.
Over the next three months, I changed my lifestyle and dropped 35lbs! Went to get measured again and I dropped 5 dress sizes!! Ever since then this is the way of eating I choose. Eating carbs makes me feel so bloated and crappy. The glow up is real y’all!
What was your workout routine? Can you give us what a typical week looked like for you working out?
I honestly don’t really do any workouts. I walk about 10,000 steps a day at work and constantly on my feet.
What was your nutrition like? Can you give us what a typical day of eating looked like?
I just kept it so simple in the beginning! I started with lots of cheese, deli meat, bacon, and cooking everything with butter. I knew nothing in the beginning and just paid attention to all labels and cut out sugar and carbs.

Since I have been eating this lifestyle for the last few years I have grown my knowledge of keto and have focused more on intermittent fasting and incorporating healthy fats into my diet. I use a Carb Managing app to track my food each day which helps me stay under 18g net carbs a day. I start every morning with a Pruvit ketone and electrolyte. They help control my appetite and give me energy until I break my fast between 4 pm/6 pm. I finished the evening with a light low carb meal. Once a month a bunch of us in my support group reboot our metabolism with a 60 hour assisted fast!

How did you stay motivated to lose weight? Did you ever slip up?
I started a keto weight loss Instagram that helped me stay accountable in so many ways! I made a lot of great social media friends and they have given the best support! Since then I have started my own keto support page on Facebook called Keto Life with Court, a no judgment keto support group!
When did you start to notice progress?
I remember losing 5 pounds the first week, I’m sure most of it was water weight, but it was the first thing that has ever actually helped me lose weight quickly! After a few weeks, it did slow down but losing 1 pound a week was so encouraging for me.
Did you use any sort of trackers/apps/scales to track your progress?
I use carb manager to track my macros for each day. I love this app because I can literally just scan the barcode and it will automatically plug in all the nutritional information for me. I also enjoy using the Life fasting app each month when I do my 60-hour fasts.
What is your best advice to beginners who are looking to lose weight?
I always tell everyone to just keep it simple! Don’t stress too much or make it hard. The first week is tough but once you get the hang of it, it is so simple! Incorporating intermittent fasting into my diet has helped kick start my weight loss. Try to keep yourself busy and getting your mind off of being bored!
