I really believe the thing that kicks most people in the teeth when it comes to weight loss is this misconception that it’s all or nothing when in reality you just have to be consistent! You don’t have to run a 5K multiple times a week or spend three hours in the gym, you just have to do little and often.
I didn’t start losing weight until I was 28, I’d been overweight most of my life but trying to find other ways of making myself feel more confident like makeup and clothes, hiding the fact I was unhappy with how I looking due to my weight. I also had a date where the man told me I was too overweight which was a bit of a turning point for me.

Artemis’s fitness journey all started with a holiday gift. For Christmas in 2016, her mom and step-dad gifted her a Fitbit Charge 2 and told her she could use it to start losing weight. 60 pounds and 18 months later, she’s as fit as ever.
Once I ditched the excuses, the ones you know all too well – you “have no time”, are “too tired”, etc. that’s when you really start making progress. It was up to me to own up to my excuses and make a change.
